Employment -- Print Production Assistant

Do you want a fun and challenging career in beautiful Santa Cruz? Our boutique Graphic Design firm in Santa Cruz, California is seeking a Print Production Assistant to become an integral member of our Print Design team.

Print Production:

• Handle day-to-day print production projects
• Transport files/proofs/jobs to-from print houses
• Work with clients to handle content and content changes

Print Production Design:

• From hand illustrations, AIs and PSDs create InDesign Templates and Master Pages
• From provided content, populate InDesign Templates Files
• Prepare PDFs for final printing (Digital/offset)
• Create AI files from hand illustrations
• Preflight files for Press production

Production Design Skills:

• Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Expert knowledge of Style Sheet Usage
• Quark Xpress working knowledge
• Microsoft Office working knowledge
• Offset production experience
• Working knowledge of Color Managenent
• Expert Knowledge of Mac OS X
• Working Knowledge of Windows
• Variable Data Knowledge a plus

Personal Skills/Requirements:

• Ability to work in Fast-paced environment while maintaining high degree of accuracy
• Native US English Speaker
• 4-year College Degree a plus
• Design students will only be considered with 2-3 years real-world experience
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
• Excellent project management skills
• Excellent documentation skills: budgets, schedules, specs, etc.
• Enjoys Dogs, we have a LARGE office dog.

Hours/benefits:

• 20 hours per week
