Employment -- Web Production Assistant

Do you want a fun and challenging career in beautiful Santa Cruz? Our boutique Graphic Design firm in Santa Cruz, California is seeking a Web Production Assistant to become an integral member of our Web team.

Web Production:

  • Handle day-to-day Web production, project prioritization and scheduling to keep client websites up-to-date
  • Provide documentation and archiving for projects; schedules, budgets, detailed specifications, search engine optimization, etc. Follow established naming convention and documentation, recommending new processes as needed.
  • Work with clients to resolve technical issues
  • Provide input and recommendations on developing interactive projects

Web Production Design:

  • From hand illustrations, AIs and PSDs create HTML, CSS Dreamweaver templates
  • From provided content, populate static web pages using Dreamweaver
  • Assist in creation of site’s visual structure, site maps and technologies
  • Have a good eye for design and visual presentation
  • Creation of Flash Intros and design elements a plus

Production Design Skills:

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Code HTML, JavaScript, CSS
  • Expert Knowledge of Mac OS X
  • Working Knowledge of Windows
  • Working knowledge of UNIX
  • Expert Knowledge of Mac OS X
  • Experience with CVS or other version control software a plus
  • Accessible Design experience a plus
  • Ability to run formal and informal QA Testing cycles (internally and with outside vendors)
  • Working knowledge of SQL, PHP, Perl, Ruby a plus
  • Working knowledge of XML a plus
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed

Personal Skills/Requirements:

  • Ability to work in Fast-paced environment while maintaining high degree of accuracy
  • Native US English Speaker
  • 4-year College Degree a plus
  • CE student will be considered with 1-3 years real-world experience
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent documentation skills: budgets, schedules, specs, etc.
